South Sulawesi Manpower Department Represents Governor at ILO's e-Seaweed Platform Launch in Makassar

Makassar - The Provincial Government of South Sulawesi reinforces its commitment to coastal economy digitalization through the official launch of the e-Seaweed digital platform implementation. The Head of the South Sulawesi Manpower and Transmigration Department (Disnakertrans), Dr. Jayadi Nas, S.Sos., M.Si., represents the Governor of South Sulawesi, Andi Sudirman Sulaiman, at this landmark event.

The launch ceremony take place on Thursday, 24 September 2026, from 10:00 to 13:00 WITA at the Makassar Industrial Area (KIMA), Makassar, South Sulawesi. This initiative marks an important milestone under the ILO’s PROMISE II IMPACT project, funded by the Government of Switzerland through the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).

Implemented in close partnership with KOSPERMINDO (Koperasi Serikat Pekerja Merdeka Indonesia) and the OJK Regional Office for South and West Sulawesi (Sulselbar), the e-Seaweed platform automates farm-level transactions, improves supply-chain transparency, and enhances product traceability from coastal farmers to buyers.

The initial rollout focuses on onboarding approximately 200 seaweed farmers in Takalar District as a pilot project, complemented by capacity-building programs in financial literacy and eco-friendly farming for KOSPERMINDO's 2,000 member farmers.

Alongside live system demonstrations, the agenda features a symbolic handover of the Warehouse Receipt Financing facility provided by Bank Sulselbar to KOSPERMINDO, unlocking formal credit access and working capital for smallholder farming communities across South Sulawesi.
