Makassar - The commitment to expanding international job market access for local workers was reaffirmed through a strategic cross-institutional initiative. Disnakertrans Prov. Sulsel officially received a visit from the Directorate General of Promotion and Utilization of Overseas Job Opportunities on Monday, August 31, 2026.
The meeting, held at the Disnakertrans Prov. Sulsel office, was attended by the Head of the Agency, Dr. Jayadi Nas, S.Sos., M.Si., accompanied by the Acting (Plt.) Secretary of the Agency, Suriamma, S.H., M.Si. This meeting served as a crucial momentum to strengthen synergy between the central and regional governments in optimizing the placement of competent and globally competitive workers.
This official visit aimed to discuss speaker arrangements and participant coordination for capacity-building programs targeting Prospective Indonesian Migrant Workers (CPMI) and Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI). This strategic step is designed as a concrete form of support for the presidential directive program known as SMK Go Global.
As a follow-up to this coordination meeting, a socialization event regarding overseas job promotion and opportunity utilization programs is scheduled to be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026. The event will take place at Hotel Kenari Tower, located at 30 Yosep Latumahina Street, Makassar City, South Sulawesi. Through this program, the government expects prospective workers, particularly vocational high school (SMK) graduates in South Sulawesi, to gain comprehensive preparation regarding procedures, opportunities, and international workforce readiness standards.
